Quick, No-Bake Meal Ideas To Enjoy During Your Move: No Kitchen Unpacking Required

When moving into a new home, it’s essential to keep your energy up. It can be all too easy to turn to takeout and delivery every time you get hungry, but doing so can lead to low energy levels. Keeping simple staples on hand that allow you to prepare quick, healthy meals can keep you feeling great as you go through the stress of unpacking and getting settled in your new neighborhood. Be sure to set at least a few minutes aside each day to sit down (even if it’s on the floor) to enjoy some healthy food.

Here, we’ll explore some healthy, easy options that you can enjoy in your new kitchen—even if you haven’t unpacked all your kitchen moving boxes yet.

California Wrap

This protein and veggie-packed lunch will keep you fueled for hours.

Ingredients:

  • Flatbread wrap
  • Spinach
  • Turkey
  • Avocado (sliced)
  • Cucumber (sliced)
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Layer all ingredients on wrap, roll, enjoy. Feel free to slice these wraps up into easy-to-eat wheels if you have little ones.

Sunflower Burst Salad

This nutrient-dense, high-protein lunch will help you stay satisfied as you work through the monotony of unpacking box after box.

Ingredients:

  • Chopped cabbage and kale (a pre-chopped salad kit is perfect)
  • Salted sunflower seeds
  • Chopped dried cranberries
  • Sliced chicken (from the deli section of the grocery store)
  • Chopped green onions
  • Sweet poppyseed dressing

Assemble all ingredients in a large bowl, toss, enjoy.

Veggie Pockets

Ingredients:

  • Pita bread (be sure to buy the pita bread with pockets)
  • Carrots, sliced into strips
  • Cucumbers
  • Spinach
  • Apples, cut into strips
  • Pecans
  • Hummus

Line inside of pita pocket with hummus, add veggies and toppings. Enjoy!

Snacks To Keep On Hand

Having grab-and-go options readily available can make it easier to get the nutrition you need, even when things get busy. Pick up a few of these items to keep your kitchen stocked with healthy snacks as you begin the unpacking process:

  • Dried fruit
  • Salted nuts
  • Tuna packets
  • String cheese
  • Grapes
  • Apples
  • Carrot sticks and hummus

Staying Hydrated

In addition to meeting your nutritional needs, it’s also essential to stay hydrated throughout the moving process. Picking up boxes, packing, and getting used to a new environment are all tough on the body, and drinking plenty of water can help to keep you on top of your game.

If you love coffee or other caffeinated beverages, be sure to drink extra water to counteract the dehydrating effects of caffeine.

Not a fan of plain water? Jazz up your hydration with a few slices of lemon or strawberries.
