William B. Meyer, Inc., with locations in Connecticut, New York, and Massachusetts, supported one of the nation’s oldest youth establishments, Boy Scouts of America, Connecticut Yankee Council, by donating goods and services to their annual popcorn sale fundraiser. Kevin Boyd, Exploring and Learning for Life Director of the Connecticut Yankee Council, needed a way to transport over 500 cases of popcorn – valued at approximately $12,000 – from a warehouse in Longford, CT to the company headquarters in Milford, CT. A local, Boyd immediately contacted MEYER’s Office and Commercial Moving division, long a fixture in the community, to offer him a solution.
MEYER’s did by donating a truck and driver to transport the popcorn to Milford, CT and unload it. The next day both truck and driver returned any extra product back to the warehouse. The popcorn they delivered was distributed to the 17,000 Boy Scouts and nearly 4,600 adult volunteers who comprise the Connecticut Yankee Council, and serve the Fairfield and New Haven communities.
